Models of Yaghan and Endeavour

Since "Yaghan" was built in 2003 we have had a beautiful model of her in our home in Djursholm. The model was built by Björn Bäckman who is famous for his nice models of ships in Sweden and abroad. He has delivered models to museums in Sweden and abroad. Now he has delivered a new model to our home. That is a model of James Cooks "Endeavour". Yaghan's circumnavigation 2006-2009 was made in the wake of "Endeavour" and her circumnavigation 1768-1771. The only difference is that "Endeavour" did not make it to Antarctica as Yaghan did. "Endeavour" tried a few times to sail down to the continent below - that many people believed was there - but had to return north every time before reaching it. It is a great honor for us to have a model of "Endeavour" next to a model of "Yaghan" in our home ( see picture ).

Yaghans jorden runt segling 2006-2009 gick i "Endeavours" kölvatten.
